October in England is one of my favourite months of the year, cool temperature’s with falling leaves, rich in colour. Normally crisp nights, however, these days the temperature is warmer, evenings are getting darker, and curling up to a good book usually is on the cards. Pumpkins line the supermarkets & squash soup on the hob!
Halloween, a time for laughing children in white bedsheets and superhero costumes. A time for chocolate candy, and pumpkins, and Trick-or-Treat
A time for dark things everything to slink out of the shadows and into our lives, reminding those unlucky few that our charades of Halloween cannot erase the centuries of history and pain behind the facade…
October in Italy is mainly famous for its many amazing food festivals, those who are not particularly interested in this and would rather enjoy a sea vacation can visit central or southern Italy, especially Sicily, as the sun still graces those areas during the month.
October is the best month for food festivals in Italy, particularly chestnuts, chocolate, mushrooms and truffles. You can find wine harvest celebrations and food festivals throughout the country. The fourth Sunday of October, for instance, is celebrated as World Pasta Day. Why not try my recipe Stuffed Conchiglioni Pasta Shells, absolutely DELIZIOSO !!! & if you are thinking of visiting one of these wonderful festivals why not take a few Italian Lessons to get the most out of your visit.
Fall Truffle Fairs in Italy: in October and November, the biggest truffle festivals are held in Tuscany, Piedmont, Le Marche, Umbria, and Emilia Romagna.
Halloween: Halloween is becoming famous in Italy for costume parties.
